Mussoorie, 17 Sep: Wynberg-Allen School organised a ‘Half Marathon’, here, on Monday. The marathon was divided into three categories, namely 5 km, 10 km and 21 km enroute Mussoorie-Dhanaulti road. A large number of present and former students, staff and athletes from different cities participated in the event.
In the 5 km event Bhavya Aggarwal and Dravika Jain of Wynberg-Allen stood first among boys and girls, respectively. Tenzin Choezin and Wanika Gupta of the same school stood first in the 10 km race. In the 21 km event, Sanchit Tailwal and Yashashvi Kandwal of Wynberg-Allen stood the winners among boys and among girls, respectively. Advik Rathee and Hiranya Jain were second and Tejas Neyol and Riya Vyas, third in the 21 km (students) event.
Rajat Jain won the 5 K (open) category, Amit Kaintura won the 10 K (open) category while Champa Dhakpa was winner in the men’s 21 K (staff) category. Harshil Gunsola was winner in the10 K (open) category. Among the girls, Swati Malik won the 21 K (open) category.
All the winners were awarded trophies and certificates of merit by Principal Tindale. He thanked the organising committee, especially Champa, Jagmohan Negi, Tashi Tsering, Ajit Kumar, Jaswant Rathore, Choting Bhutia for successfully organising the event.
