India-Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise

Dehradun, 4 Oct: The 8th edition of the India- Kazakhstan Joint Exercise KAZIND is presently underway at Surya Foreign Training Node, Auli. The Kazind joint military exercise between India and Kazakhstan is based on conducting Joint Sub Conventional Operations under Chapter VII of United Nations Mandate.

The Exercise commenced on 30 September with an aim to enhance interoperability between Indian and Kazakhstan forces with special emphasis on Counter Terrorism Operations. The Indian Contingent comprising 120 personnel is being represented primarily by a Battalion from the Kumaon Regiment and Indian Air Force along with personnel from supporting Arms and Services.

The contingents have so far participated in Yoga, Army Martial Arts Routine, Rock Craft Training and Special Heliborne Operation. The Yoga session brought together troops of both contingents thus highlighting the significance of yoga in physical wellbeing, mental health, spiritual balance and fostering resilience among troops. Indian troops also demonstrated their skills in Army Martial Arts Routine to the Kazakhstan Contingent wherein hand to hand combat abilities were showcased. Rock craft training witnessed equipping soldiers with the necessary skills for operating in rugged, mountainous terrain, enhancing their ability to navigate difficult environments during counter-terrorist missions. Special Heliborne Operations highlighted the rapid deployment techniques, wherein troops are inserted into hostile areas via helicopters to conduct swift operations.
