Dehradun, 6 Nov: A thrilling adventure unfolded on the Ganga River as 100 cadets, comprising 40 girl cadets and 60 boy cadets from Uttarakhand, Delhi and UP zones of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), participated in a high-adrenaline white water rafting course led by the Raiwala Gunners. Conducted in four batches from 23 September to 16 November, this exceptional event was organised under the aegis of the Army Adventure Node at Raiwala and provided cadets the unique opportunity to experience the rush and rigour of navigating the rapids of one of India’s most iconic rivers.
Designed to foster courage, leadership, and teamwork, the white-water rafting course is part of NCC’s ongoing efforts to encourage outdoor skills and physical endurance among its cadets. Guided by trained instructors from the Army Adventure Node, the cadets not only learned about water safety and rafting techniques but also experienced the first-hand importance of coordination, resilience, and mutual support while tackling challenges.
The Officer accompanying the cadets commented on the event, saying, “This rafting course on the Ganga not only builds physical strength but also instills mental fortitude and teamwork skills in our cadets. These qualities are invaluable for shaping the leaders of tomorrow, and we are grateful to the Raiwala Gunners and the Army Adventure Node.”
