DEHRADUN, 23 Nov: In the 5th Athletic Meet of Graphic Era Global School, Radhika Thapa in girls’ category and Utkarsh Kathait and Shivansh Bhatt in boys’ category won the title of best athletes. Galileo house won the Cock House Trophy for its outstanding performance.
Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions Kamal Ghanshala inaugurated the the 5th annual Athletic m by hoisting the flag. On this occasion, he said that to ignite sportsmanship in students athletic meets should be organized twice in a year. Students should participate in various sports activities regularly to keep themselves physically and mentally fit. Vice Chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala, Pro Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor Narpinder Singh and Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Sanjay Jasola distributed trophies, medals and certificates to the winners.
The Athletic Meet started with the marchpast lead by head boy Arjun Ghanshala and headgirl Vaishnavi Chaube. After this, younger children’s interesting competitions such as candy bingo race, mickey mini race, butterfly race, pumpkin race, banana race and picnic race regaled the viewers. Students also participated in tug-of-war, relay race, 400m race and 100m race with great enthusiasm. Yoga, khukri drill and saree drill by students received huge cheers and applauses from the audience. Vice-chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala awarded cash prize of 31 thousand rupees to the yoga team for their amazing performance.
In the Middle school boy’s category Arpan Dixit and in Middle school girl’s category Simran Malik won the best athlete award. Sarthak Bisht and Adah Nawaz bagged the best athlete award in junior category. Principal of Graphic Era Global School Raj Kumar Trehan expressed his gratitude. Officials of Graphic Era Deemed University, teachers, students and parents were present in the meet.
