Dehradun, 3 Dec: Latika, a leading organisation providing professional services to children and adults with disabilities, partnered with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to host a heartwarming and inclusive celebration on International Disability Day, today, at the ITBP campus in Dehradun. The event brought together children with disabilities supported by Latika, their families, and ITBP officials and staff for a day filled with fun, games, and shared experiences, fostering awareness and embracing the beauty of inclusion.
The highlight of the day was the enthusiastic participation of ITBP officials and jawans in joint activities with the children. By engaging in inclusive games and activities, ITBP personnel experienced firsthand the joy and importance of integrating children with disabilities into community life.
Adding to the celebratory spirit, the ITBP pipe band performed an exceptional musical showcase that captivated the children and their families. The vibrant tunes uplifted the atmosphere, emphasising how inclusion enriches everyone’s lives.
The event aimed to spread the message of a rights-based approach to disabilities—one that celebrates diversity and mutual growth. By creating an environment where children with disabilities could engage freely and joyfully with ITBP personnel, the programme highlighted how small acts of inclusion can foster stronger, more empathetic communities.
