CM flags off 6 Forensic Mobile Lab Vehicles

Dehradun, 17 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off six forensic Mobile Lab vehicles at a function held at his official residence here today. These forensic mobile labs have been launched by the State Home Department.

It has been stated that each forensic lab vehicle costs around Rs 65 lakhs and is equipped with a drug detection kit, explosive kit, fingerprint kit, footprint kit, DNA kit, fridge, generator, cyber security-related software, video camera, and other facilities. These forensic lab vehicles will enable primary testing of any criminal incident on the crime scene itself.

During the first phase, these forensic lab vehicles will be sent to Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora, and Srinagar. This arrangement will later be extended to all districts. It is pertinent to point here that the state had received a fund of Rs 3.92 crores from the Union Government for these vehicles.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, MLA Dilip Rawat, Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, ADG and Director of Forensic Science Labs Amit Kumar Sinha, Joint Director Dr SK Sharma, Deputy Director Dr Manoj Agarwal, Dr Pan Singh, forensic expert Dr Dayal Sharan, scientist Dr Monica, and Dr Rakesh Kumar were also present.
