Bironkhal (Pauri), 17 Dec: Satpal Maharaj, Minister for Tourism, Public Works, Irrigation, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Watershed Management, Dharma Swara and Culture, and the MLA from Choubattakhal, has announced various development projects worth Rs 19.42 crore for his assembly constituency, covering roads, education, panchayats, rural development, and culture.
During his visit to the Government Inter College, Sendhar, and Government Inter College, Bironkhal, on Tuesday, Satpal Maharaj dedicated the development schemes in the presence of local officials and residents. He emphasised that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand is undergoing rapid and multidimensional development, with significant progress in the Choubattakhal assembly constituency. Many public welfare projects have already been completed, and several others are under execution.

Maharaj inaugurated and laid the foundation for various road construction and repair projects, including: Rs 30.35 lakh for the repair of the Bhrola to Maithana motor road; Rs 73.60 lakh for the repair of the Bedikhal to Chorkhinda motor road; Rs 61.69 lakh for the repair of the Bedikhal to Bhorad motor road; Rs 339.76 lakh for the repair of the Kasani to Dheswani motor road; Rs 133.58 lakh for the second-phase expansion of the Bedi-Khal-Bhoroli-Khal-Aroli motor road to Chandoli; Rs 133.17 lakh for the repair of the Bironkhal to Dumaila Talla Bhmarikhal-Pakholi-Dunav motor road, Rs 72.31 lakh for the repair of the Maithana to Ghansyali motor road; Rs 139.36 lakh for the improvement and macadamisation of the Jamri-Talai Khatlagad-Mahadev motor road.
Additionally, the foundation stones for several new educational infrastructure projects were laid, including: Rs 40.04 lakh for classrooms at Rajkiya Inter College, Bedikhal, Rs 56.37 lakh for new facilities at Rajkiya Inter College, Sendhar, Rs 77.27 lakh for new classrooms at Rajkiya Inter College, Bironkhal, Rs 73.82 lakh for classrooms at Rajkiya Inter College, Sundernagar; Rs 65.93 lakh for classrooms at Rajkiya Inter College, Syunsi; Rs 61.50 lakh for science laboratories at Rajkiya Inter College, Sundernagar.
In the field of Panchayati Raj, Satpal Maharaj laid the foundation for a Rs 10 lakh Panchayat Bhawan in Dumaila Malla, along with inaugurating five Panchayat Bhawans in various locations worth Rs 50 lakh. Moreover, he also unveiled the statue of freedom fighter Jeet Singh Garhwali built at a cost of Rs 7 lakh in Bironkhal.
Prominent leaders and officials including BJP Mandal President Ompal, General Secretary Surendra Dhondiyal, and members of the Badri Kedarnath Temple Committee, among others, were present at the event.
