AI & Technological Innovations can accelerate achievement of goals: Gurmit Singh

Dehradun, 21 Dec: The two-day event “Gangadhara, Ek Aviral Pravah,” organized by the Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan and Doon University, concluded at Doon University on Sunday. The event was graced by the Governor, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), as the Chief Guest, while the Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, delivered the keynote address. During the event, the Governor also visited the exhibition of local products set up at the venue and interacted with the local producers.
In his address, Lt Gen Singh highlighted that just as the flow of the Ganga has been the basis of life since time immemorial, this lecture series would also further the flow of knowledge and ideas, providing new directions to address social issues. He stated that such discussions and deliberations would lead to permanent solutions to societal challenges, which would aid in the development of both the state and the nation. Focusing on the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, he urged citizens to diligently fulfill their duties and responsibilities. He emphasized that by adopting AI and technological innovations, we could accelerate the achievement of our goals.
The Governor also stressed the need to take stringent measures against corruption and drug abuse. He mentioned that corruption hinders our progress and development, and breaking its chain is crucial. He called for a collective effort to combat the challenge of drug abuse and stated that it is everyone’s responsibility to unite against drugs.
Keynote speaker, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, highlighted the inclusivity and knowledge traditions of Indian culture. He praised Indian values, saying that Indian culture has always been centered around the welfare of society and humanity. Speaking on Indian culture, he noted that it is inclusive and renowned for fostering knowledge and wisdom. He also emphasized the importance of equal participation of women, stating that in our culture, women have always held a high place.
Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament, Trivendra Singh Rawat, appreciated the efforts of the Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan and Doon University. He stressed the need to continue such programs in the future. Doon University Vice Chancellor, Professor Surekha Dangwal, expressed her happiness at the success of the event and thanked all the guests and participants. During the event, members of the Dadhichi Dehdaan Committee were honored for their exemplary work.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, academicians, researchers, students, and representatives from various sections of society.
