On this occasion, the Governor also launched a book, titled “United for Peace: A Shared Vision for Humanity” and described it as an important step in guiding peace and humanity.
In his address, the Governor stated that peace is not merely the absence of war and violence, but a state of living with equality, freedom, and respect. He emphasised that the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” teaches us that the entire world is one family, and this ideal can be the foundation for peace and unity.
The Governor mentioned that Uttarakhand is the centre of yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, and this land is a source of spiritual peace and balance. He highlighted the state’s efforts in environmental conservation and adopting green technologies, calling them essential for peace and stability.
The Governor praised the efforts made by India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for peace and humanity. He said that the Prime Minister’s ideology of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” has sent a message of viewing the entire world as one family.
The Governor further stated that terrorism, climate change, cultural division, and economic inequality are today’s biggest challenges. To address these issues, he stressed the need to promote education, dialogue, and cooperation. He also highlighted the importance of green technology, energy conservation, and tree plantation as essential measures for long-term peace and stability.
The Governor concluded by stating that India’s culture and traditions send a message of peace and humanity. He recalled the principles of non-violence and satyagraha of Mahatma Gandhi and Mahatma Buddha, noting that these values continue to inspire the world today.
