Dehradun, 31 Dec: The newly elected members of the executive committee of Uttaranchal Press Club today called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence, here.
The Chief Minister welcomed the newly elected members and congratulated them on getting elected. He highlighted the important role of the media in conveying the government’s schemes and policies to the public. He stated that journalism serves as the mirror of society, raising public awareness about government initiatives besides also sharing useful feedback with the government about public issues and suggestions. Dhami added that the media, as the fourth pillar of democracy, plays a crucial role in this process. He expressed hope that the Uttaranchal Press Club would work to consistently communicate the government’s schemes and policies to the general public.
On this occasion, newly elected President of Uttaranchal Press Club Bhupendra Kandhari, General Secretary Surendra Dasila, Senior Vice President Abhishek Mishra, Junior Vice President Sulochana Payal, Treasurer Anil Chandola, Joint Secretary Abhay Kaintura, Observer Shivesh Sharma, and members Yogesh Raturi, Raman Jaiswal, Sandeep Badola, Asad Khan, and Kishore Rawat were among those present.
