SJVN bids farewell to Director, Finance, Akhileshwar Singh

Shimla, 1 Jan: SJVN bid a warm farewell to Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance), in a function held at its Corporate Headquarters, here, on Tuesday. Present were Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), Chandra Shekhar Yadav, ED(HR), along with senior officials and employees of SJVN family, who conveyed their best wishes to Akhileshwar Singh for his future endeavours.

Akhileshwar Singh began his career in Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited and later joined SJVN as Senior Officer (Finance) in 1993. On 6 January 2020, Singh assumed charge as Director (Finance). During his tenure, SJVN experienced unprecedented growth in its CapEx. Furthermore, Singh’s strong grasp of SEBI regulations and market analysis significantly boosted SJVN’s share price from RS 24.09 in 2019 to Rs 170 in 2024.

SJVN expanded its renewable portfolio to 28,240 MW under the leadership of Singh as Director Incharge of Renewable Business. This included commissioning five major solar projects between 2022 and 2025, namely 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurah Solar Power Station, and 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh, 100 MW Raghanseda Solar Power Station in Gujarat and 90 MW Omkareshwar Solar Power Station in Madhya Pradesh. As Head of SJVN’s Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA), he worked tirelessly to achieve the 12.5 GW target, resulting in the awarding of 1.5 GW solar projects in November 2023. Additional projects of 1.5 GW (Hybrid) and 1.5 GW solar are nearing the award stage.

Born on 11 December 1964 in Siwan district, Bihar, Akhileshwar Singh holds a postgraduate degree in Business Management (Finance) from Patna University. He is married to Rita Singh and is a proud father to his daughter Anupama and son Abhinav.
