4th State Level Steering Committee Meeting of NCAP chaired by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi

Dehradun, 2 Jan: To update the infrastructure in the adaptation of electric vehicles, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given instructions to set up EV charging stations in shopping malls as well. The Chief Secretary has instructed all departments to strictly follow the scrapping policy regarding vehicles.  While developing green belts between cities, CS has given instructions to plant bamboo plants on priority instead of others in the empty spaces between the roads and in the traffic corridors. Along with this, she has directed preparation of a clean air action plan to curb pollution in Dehradun, Rishikesh and Kashipur identified under the National Clean Air Programme.

The CS has also directed the Urban Development Department to seriously track the garbage burning activities through the task force constituted at the Municipal Corporation level. She also sought action on completely stopping littering activities through the Mahila Mangal Dals. Regarding door to door collection of garbage, Chief Secretary Raturi has given strict instructions to maintain 100 percent collection and to make arrangements for slums as well.
Chairing the fourth State Level Steering Committee meeting of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) at the Secretariat, today, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi gave instructions to install integrated traffic management systems at main junctions and improve roads for dust control.  The Chief Secretary said that to achieve the target of reducing the amount of pollutants by 40 percent by the year 2025-26, the departments will have to seriously work on a concrete action plan.
Officials of the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, Additional Secretaries of related departments, Municipal Commissioner, Dehradun, and other officials were present at the meeting.
