Book on millet recipes presented to Gov

Dehradun, 3 Jan: The Dean of the Hotel Management Department of Devbhoomi University, Dehradun, Chandramouli Dhoundiyal, along with other faculty members, presented their book, “Millet Meals”, to Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, today.

The book contains recipes based on millets, which are traditional grains. Dhoundiyal explained that the aim of the book is to promote the ancient grain, Shri Anna, at the global level.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of Dhoundiyal and his team, noting that this is an important initiative in the field of health and nutrition. He emphasised that millets are not only beneficial for health but also play a significant role in promoting climate-resilient crops. The Governor expressed hope that this book will help spread awareness about the importance of millets to the masses.

The delegation also discussed organising various programmes and workshops to promote millet-based recipes. The delegation also included Surendra Singh Bisht, Siddhi Vinayak, and Shubham from the Hotel Management Department of Devbhoomi University.
