Dhami holds election rallies in Haldwani & Nainital

Nainital, 16 Jan: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in election rallies in Haldwani and Nainital to canvass support for BJP candidates for the municipal elections. In the morning, he reached Haldwani to launch a road show in support of BJP’s mayoral candidate for Haldwani Municipal Corporation, Gajraj Singh Bisht. The road show, which started from Kaladhungi Road, saw a large turnout of BJP workers. The procession passed through Nainital Road and reached Tikunia, where Dhami also addressed a public meeting.
Prominent BJP leaders, including MP Ajay Bhatt, BJP candidate Gajraj Singh, MLA Banshidhar Bhagat, and Mohan Singh Bisht, participated in the road show. In his address, the CM urged the people to vote for BJP candidates in all bodies of Uttarakhand, including the BJP’s mayoral candidate from Haldwani, Gajraj Singh Bisht to ensure BJP’s victory in the bodies and panchayat elections. He announced that the Uniform Civil Code would be implemented in Uttarakhand this month. He also reminded the local people that Haldwani would soon host the National Games.
Later, Dhami reached Nainital, where also he attended a public meeting in Mallital, seeking support for BJP candidates from Nainital, Bhawali, and Bhimtal for the municipal elections. He also promised rapid development of basic urban facilities in these areas and promised accelerated development after winning the civic elections.
In his address, the CM also mentioned issues such as land jihad and demographic changes, asserting that his government is committed to preserving the state’s demography and taking strict action against such activities.
In Mallital, Dhami appealed to voters to support Prakash Arya for the Bhawali Municipal Ward, Jeevanti Bhatt for Nainital, and Kamala Arya for Bhimtal in the civic elections. He also criticised the Congress and the independent candidates, warning the voters that voting for them would be a waste. He reminded the voters also about BJP’s efforts to improve roads, education, health facilities. He also reminded the people about the ongoing Manas Mala Project for development of mythological temples in the Kumaon region and claimed that this has boosted religious tourism in Kumaon region.
The CM also targeted the Congress in his address, accusing it of promoting corruption and appeasement. He urged the people to vote for BJP to ensure a triple engine government that would bring rapid development in Nainital. He also reminded that more than 10,000 players from across the country would participate in the National Games in Uttarakhand and shared that while the inauguration ceremony of the National Games would be held in Dehradun, the closing ceremony would be held at Gaulapar Stadium in Nainital district.
