Mussoorie, 16 Jan: The candidates have intensified the election campaign for the Mussoorie Municipal elections, while the top leadership of Congress and BJP has also taken the lead. Former Uttarakhand Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman Bhagwat Singh Makwana reached Mussoorie and sought votes from the public for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates. Talking to reporters, Makwana said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s central and state governments are dedicated to serving the Scheduled Castes and the poor. ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and under that, work is done for the development of all sections. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates are going to win in large numbers in the civic elections in Uttarakhand. The Bharatiya Janata Party won all five Lok Sabha seats from Uttarakhand in the Lok Sabha elections. On the same lines, along with the BJP candidates in Uttarakhand, BJP candidate Meera Saklani and councillors of Mussoorie Municipal Corporation elections are going to win with huge votes. He said that the Modi and Pushkar Singh Dhami governments have always taken important decisions for the benefit of the Valmiki community. In 2022, the pay scale of outsourced employees was increased to Rs 500, and an insurance of Rs 5 lakh for sanitation workers was announced, the benefits of which have also started to be received by the employees.
He said that the Uttarakhand Safai Karamchari Commission was constituted by the BJP government of Uttarakhand to resolve the problems of sanitation workers, and he was made its first chairman, under which many decisions were taken in the interests of sanitation workers. He said that the BJP government has worked to increase, both, the pension and gratuity of sanitation workers, while the pay scale has also been increased. He said that the outgoing chairman of Mussoorie Municipality was independent and due to a small mistake, the BJP candidate lost. This time work is being done as per strategy and he is confident that BJP will form the board with full majority in Mussoorie Municipality. He said that the outgoing board has played with the rights of the sanitation workers. As per the government order, daily wage workers were to be given Rs 500 per day as honorarium but the outgoing board violated their rights and gave them only Rs 272. He said that the outgoing board could not develop Mussoorie because they were independent and in such a situation, various types of corruption and scams were done by them. He appealed to the people of Mussoorie to vote for the election symbol of BJP, lotus, in Mussoorie and make the chairman and councilor victorious so that a triple engine government can be formed in Mussoorie and it can develop.
