Hilton’s School celebrates 50 years of Excellence

Dehradun, 8 Feb: Hilton’s School commemorated its Golden Jubilee on 5 February, marking 50 years of excellence in education since its founding in 1975. The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by cultural performances and a reflection on the school’s illustrious journey.

Floral tributes were paid to the founder, Esme Maureen Hilton, while Lancelot J Fuller, former Deputy Secretary of CISCE and Member of Hilton’s Board of Governors, led the Opening Prayer. The school choir performed “Lord Behold us with Thy Blessings…,” invoking divine grace.

Principal David J Hilton warmly welcomed the dignitaries, highlighting the school’s journey and legacy.

S DaCosta, Chairman of the Board of Governors and a prominent educationist, delivered an inspiring address, followed by multi-faith readings. Alumnus Pasang and student Sapeksh performed “The Prayer”, followed by the ceremonial cutting of the Golden Jubilee cake. Students from Classes VI-VIII presented a graceful Thanksgiving dance, while heartfelt recollections were shared by S Jonas and Sunita Kapruwan.

The event also featured musical performances, blessings from RV Gardner, Principal, St Thomas College, Dehradun and, reflections on Hilton’s legacy by the first Head Girl, Sharon Macmohan, and current Head Girl, Pakhi Manori. Special performances included that of renowned singer Bobby Cash, a former teacher at Hilton’s, and a classical vibrant dance medley by the senior girls.

The celebration concluded with a grand finale “Carry your candle – Go Light the world…”, and the closing prayer. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Principal and the school song concluded the function, encapsulating Hilton’s proud legacy and future aspirations in the days ahead.
