CM inaugurates & lays foundation stones for 19 Projects worth Rs 110.56 Cr

Kashipur, 9 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a grand roadshow on Sunday before reaching the Municipal Corporation event venue in Kashipur. He was warmly welcomed with floral showers, garlands, and bouquets by the people of Kashipur, various organisations, and public representatives.

During the ceremonial event at Kashipur Municipal Corporation, CM Dhami laid the foundation stones for 7 development projects worth Rs 48.61 crore and inaugurated 12 projects worth Rs 61.95 crore, bringing the total to Rs 110.56 crore.

The projects include road widening, divider construction, underground electrification, and street lighting from KVR Hospital to Dhanauri and Business Inn Hotel to Paramanandpur Link Road; PPP-mode construction of a new municipal office building, residential complex, and shopping complex; infrastructure development (roads, drains, electricity, parks) in 17 newly created wards; expansion of Kashipur Sports Stadium and its modernisation under municipal operations; development of Girital Lake with a cycling/pedestrian track, boating facilities, decorative lighting, and pillar construction; conversion of Rajkiya Balika Inter College into a state-of-the-art model intermediate school; and construction of a Circuit House near the SDM’s office.

CM Dhami expressed gratitude to the people of Kashipur for supporting the “Triple Engine” government. He emphasised that the state government is working tirelessly to fulfill public aspirations and ensure holistic development. A stricter land law has been passed in the assembly, in line with the people’s sentiments.

He reminded that Uttarakhand is the first state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which is proving to be a milestone in women’s empowerment and safety. He added that development projects worth Rs 111 crore launched in Kashipur will strengthen infrastructure, provide better amenities, and boost the economy.

CM Dhami highlighted how PM Modi’s leadership has accelerated Uttarakhand’s progress, from infrastructure development in remote villages to the preservation of cultural heritage. He reiterated the government’s commitment to revitalising ancient temples in Kumaon under the Manaskhand Corridor project, similar to Kedarkhand.

On the occasion, a Rs 37.50 crore 18-MLD sewage treatment plant under the AMRUT scheme was inaugurated; a Rs 14.29 crore solid waste management project was launched; as was a Rs 1,100 crore Industrial Hub and Rs 100 crore Aroma Park to generate employment and strengthen the local economy.

The Lakhpati Didi Scheme & Solar Self-Employment Scheme is being promoted for self-sufficiency. The CM also mentioned the support for Farmers & Infrastructure Growth, which includes zero-interest loans up to Rs 3 lakh for farmers; 80% subsidy on farm machinery under the Farm Machinery Bank scheme; hike in MSP for key crops and free irrigation from canals; expansion of aromatic farming with six Aroma Valleys being developed.

The long-stalled Jamrani Dam project is being revived, benefiting Kashipur and the Terai region.

He claimed that the government is ensuring Law & Order, Employment, and Cultural Preservation. Uttarakhand ranks No.1 in the NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals index. Youth employment initiatives led to a record 4.4% drop in unemployment, exceeding the national average. There are new strict anti-riot and anti-conversion laws implemented to protect Uttarakhand’s cultural values. A crackdown has been initiated against the cheating mafia with the implementation of one of the country’s toughest anti-copying laws.

CM Dhami also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various urban and rural infrastructure projects, including a Rs 14.29 crore Solid Waste Management Project; Rs 18.60 crore for 117 municipal development works; Rs 4.89 crore flood protection & trenching ground pitching on Dhela River; Rs 578.01 lakh road redevelopment project under PM Awas Yojana in Mahuakheda Ganj; Rs 367.10 lakh reconstruction of Joshi Majhra–Barkheda Pandey–Mahuakheda Ganj road; Rs 92.68 lakh reconstruction of Bhagwantpur Road to Bagichi; Rs 37.50 crore 18-MLD Sewage Treatment Plant; Rs 553.25 lakh reconstruction of Mukandpur Pega–Dhakia Gulabo road; Rs 351.62 lakh redevelopment of Jagannathpur-Kosi Farm road; Rs 176.22 lakh reconstruction of Bhajua Nagla–Banskhedi–Beriya Barehni road; Rs 144.75 lakh strengthening of Keshavwala–Bajpur Railway Crossing road.

CM Dhami reaffirmed his commitment to making Uttarakhand a leading state in India. He called upon the people of Kashipur to continue supporting the government’s efforts in transforming the region into a model city.

At the event, MP Ajay Bhatt and Deepak Bali welcomed the CM and presented an 11-point development agenda for the region. The CM also distributed house keys to PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries and handed over a Rs 1.95 crore check for the scheme.
