Dehradun, 26 Mar: Certain officers of the Secretariat Services have been reshuffled today while more transfers are expected in April. Today, only a handful of officers have been assigned new roles, leaving several others awaiting the much-anticipated transfer list. It is speculated that the next list will be released in April, bringing further changes to key positions.

The Secretariat Administration Department (SAD) has reassigned the responsibilities of four officers at the government level. These transfers involve both Joint Secretary and Under Secretary-level officers. Some of the officers transferred today were recently promoted and their transfer post the promotion was already expected.

In this reshuffle, Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh Patiyal has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Personnel Department, apart from the Chief Minister’s Office. Joint Secretary Gajendra Kafliyal has been given the charge of Home and Skill Development, while Under Secretary Ramesh Singh Nitwal has been shifted to Jalgam. Under Secretary Surendra Singh Rawat has now been moved to the Chief Minister’s Office.

This development is deemed significant as some of the reassigned officers have been given the charge of important departments such as the Chief Minister’s Office and Public Works. However, officers who were expecting their names in the transfer list will have to wait longer. Sources indicate that additional key changes in the Secretariat Service are likely to take place in April, particularly for officers who have been serving in the same post for an extended period of time. This next phase of reshuffling is expected to bring changes to several prominent positions.
