Dehradun, 26 Mar: Dr Dhananjai Mohan, Head of Forest Force, Uttarakhand, today launched a poster of the book, ‘Flight Beyond The Mountains’, by Anupama, a forest officer from West Bengal.
After launching the poster, Dhananjai Mohan, who is considered the Birdman of Uttarakhand, said ‘Bird Watching is the most delightful hobby to have! It keeps one calm, happy and is a great energy booster.” He urged all to start observing bird behaviour, take keen interest in identifying birds in their vicinity and learn from their innate and learned behaviours.
Author Anupama observed in her book noteworthy bird patterns and habits of several species spotted in Dehradun forests, to draw lessons of life for human beings to follow.
Ruskin Bond, India’s most loved author enthusiastically endorsed the book which is an enchanting story set in the forests of the Doon. He added that children will love it. And so will parents and teachers. A must have pillow book, he added.
The publication of the book is significant as plantations in Uttarakhand will take place keeping in mind the preference that birds have for nesting in specific tree species.
The book has been published by Natraj Publishers, Dehradun.
