Mussoorie, 8 Jul: Dense fog became the cause of an accident here on Tuesday afternoon. A Max pickup jeep suddenly went out of control at a turn near Ghanananda Inter College on the Mussoorie- Dehradun Road, broke the parapet on the side and fell into a deep ditch. As soon as the information was received, Mussoorie Police and Fire Service personnel reached the spot under the leadership of Kotwal Santosh Kunwar and due to the alertness of the local people, the driver was safely taken out of the ditch in time.

Kotwal Santosh Kunwar stated that at the time of the accident, only the driver Virendra, son of late Dalu Singh, age 46 years, resident of Kyarkuli village, was in the jeep. The driver suffered minor injuries, who was immediately sent to the sub-district hospital. The rescue operation was conducted along with the fire service and local people. He pointed out that these days there is dense fog in Mussoorie, due to which it has become difficult for people to judge the road. This fog is becoming a big reason for accidents. He said, “We are constantly warning people to drive slowly during fog and take special care on turns. While traveling in fog, use headlights and dippers, and avoid driving in dense fog. A bit of carelessness can become a big threat to life.”
