Dehradun, 21 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today issued directives to expedite and ensure timely implementation of the integrated ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ platform, aimed at making citizen services simple, convenient, and transparent. Emphasising on the importance of this digital initiative as a true game-changer for governance in the state, the CM today reiterated that all departments must act swiftly in accordance with the outlined roadmap to ensure its successful execution.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat here, today, Dhami undertook a detailed review of the progress made so far in implementing the ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ platform. He also underlined the transformative potential of the initiative, which he said would significantly enhance transparency and efficiency in the state’s administrative machinery. The platform, he noted, will revolutionise the manner in which public services and communication are delivered to citizens, propelling Uttarakhand into the mainstream of the digital era. Significantly, he further stressed on the necessity of developing a system that is not only technologically sound but also citizen-friendly, ensuring ease of access and a high level of data security.
During the meeting, Secretary, Information Technology, Nitesh Jha shared details regarding the platform’s current development status. He informed that ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ is being conceptualised as a unified digital gateway, providing single-point access to all state government services and schemes. This, he explained, would streamline service delivery through a data-driven administrative approach, thus improving efficiency and ensuring better outcomes in scheme implementation.
Jha added that the system will house direct access links to various services and government-run schemes, offering citizens a centralised digital interface for interacting with the government. The focus, Jha noted, is to make the platform intuitive and secure, equipping the state with robust digital infrastructure that supports proactive and transparent governance.
Among those present in the meeting included Vice Chairman of the Infrastructure Monitoring Council, Vishwas Dawar, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu and R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Sridhar Babu Adanki, Director, ITDA, Gaurav Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, CPPGG, Manoj Pant, along with other senior officials and representatives from departments concerned. Each department has now been tasked with ensuring close coordination and timely integration of their respective services with the ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ portal, as per the implementation framework.
