Dehradun, 31 May: On the occasion of World Environment Day, several activities were held for 60 children of slum dwellers at Ritha Mandi with the support of Samarpan Society.
There was also orientation of industrial labour at Tyagi Tata Motors on adopting good health practices and proper disposal of waste products, and a cleanliness drive and awareness campaign with the slum dwellers at Kath Bangla 2 slum area. Last but not the least, an interactive session was held with more than 70 drivers of the Nagar Nigam garbage trucks and buses on their vital role in the city’s waste management.
A team comprising Neha Dobhal, Rajnish Kumar, Devesh Sharma, Hitesh Joshi, Sanjay Thapliyal, Deepika Negi and Indira Joshi from the Uttarakhand Disaster Recovery Project organised all the activities.
