Vishakapatnam, 16 July: Uttarakhand bagged 1 Gold and 1 Silver Medal, in All India Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship 2023.
The event was held at GMR Sports Arena, Rajam, Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
IPS, ADG Amit Kumar Sinha won Gold Medal in 120 weight category with a total weight of 435 kgs (180 squat, 95 bench press, 160 dead lift).
While Sujata Kaul won Silver in the 69 weight class by lifting 232.5 kgs.
A total of 456 lifters participated in the championship from 23 states, held between 12th July to 16th July.
Amit Sinha has now qualified for the World Championship slated to be held at Ulan Batar Mongolia in October 2023.
