DEHRADUN, 17 Jan: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the launch of the air service between Dehradun and Pithoragarh, under the second phase of ‘Udan’ scheme, here, today. He said that with the commencement of this service, Pithoragarh could be reached from Dehradun in an hour’s time. This would facilitate the people of the areas adjoining the Nepal and China border. It would also increase the air connectivity in the state, thereby encouraging tourism.
Under the second phase of the ‘Udan’ scheme, today, air services were started from Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, to Naini Saini airport in Pithoragarh.
