DEHRADUN, 15 Jan: The ‘Uttarakhand Geet (Teen Taraane) Album’ has been written, composed and sung by Ajit Singh Shaant, Advisor and former Deputy Commissioner, State Election Commission.
On the day of the release on YouTube and inauguration of the three songs by Chief Guest Raj Kanwar, freelance Journalist and writer, also present were guests of honour Om Pal Singh Rathi, State President, Uttarakhand Jat Maha Sabha, Ashwin Kumar Tyagi, former Hindi Newscaster, AIR, Delhi, and Avdhash Kaushal, founder Chairperson of RLEK, were present at the RLEK Auditorium.
On the occasion, Ajit Singh said that the three songs – ‘Uttarakhand hai Pyara’, ‘Agar Dekhni Hai Jannat’ and ‘Aao Uttrakhand mein Padharo’ – describe the natural beauty, beautiful environment and varied climate of the state, shrines, occupations, institutions, traditions and culture. These make listeners realise the important aspects of Uttarakhand by spreading awareness and attract tourists from other states and countries.
After lighting of ceremonial lamp, Raj Kanwar shared that it was an honour to inaugurate and release the album as he didn’t know that Ajit Singh was so talented. He was pleased to hear Bhajans online when he googled him and his channel.
Ashwin Kumar Tyagi said Makar Sakranti was an auspicious occasion for the launch and also the beginning of Kumbh. Om Pal Singh Rathi Ajit on behalf of Uttarakhand Sarv Samaj and Uttarakhand Jat Sabha after praising the content of the songs and pictures of Uttarakhand in the videos.
Avdhash Kaushal added that the fragrance of Basmati Rice brought him to Uttarakhand 50 years ago, where he found a beautiful and peaceful environment and people living in simplicity.
All three video songs were screened on the occasion for the more than 120 invitees. Ajit also sang a few lines dedicated to soldiers and concluded with a Vote of Thanks.
