Dehradun, 22 Nov: The BJP today called Congress allegations in the Adani case a conspiracy to harm Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image and the country’s economy. Raising serious questions on the matter, the BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt today asserted that the company concerned will give its own response regarding the allegations in the US court, but Congress will have to explain why only it and its allies are mentioned as bribe-taking governments in this report. Why did Congress get thousands of crores of investment from the Adani Group under its governments?

Bhatt, while reacting to the statements of Congress leaders regarding the allegations against industrialist Gautam Adani, called it an anti-national script of the Congress leadership. He retorted that Congress and the Gandhi family have been trying to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2002. As far as the allegations against the Adani Group are concerned, the company will defend itself legally, but Rahul’s allegations against the Prime Minister and the BJP government at the Centre are completely baseless and reflect his hatred. He alleged that efforts have been made to tarnish Modi’s image since his tenure as Chief Minister.

He also reminded that, according to the report presented before the US Federal Court, the four states in which bribes have been mentioned in 2021-22 are those which were ruled by Congress or its allies. These include the Bhupesh Baghel led Congress Government in Chhattisgarh, the Jaganmohan Reddy led government in Andhra Pradesh, the DMK government in Tamil Nadu, and the BJD government of Odisha. Instead of making allegations, the Congress leadership should be ashamed and should ask the then Chief Ministers.

Citing the investments of the Adani Group in many states ruled by Congress and its allies, Bhatt reminded that the Adani Group had invested Rs 25 thousand crores and Rs 65 thousand crores respectively during the government of Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh and Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan. At the same time, an amount of Rs 45 thousand crores was also invested in DMK-ruled Tamil Nadu, and recently, Rs 100 crore was donated to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the Skill Development Foundation. He stated that, if Adani is so corrupt, then why are Congress governments allowing his company to invest in the states ruled by the Congress or its allies?

Bhatt alleged that Congress is unable to tolerate the strengthening of the Indian economy while Modi is the Prime Minister. Now, when India is on its way to becoming the third-largest global economy, there is an attempt to create obstacles. Bhatt said that Rahul Gandhi is repeatedly trying to target the Indian economy by making various allegations. The result of such efforts has been that due to the fall in the stock market, lakhs of crores of rupees of common investors have been lost.

Taking a dig at the ignorance of Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders on legal aspects, Bhatt said that earlier the government was also targeted on the issue of alleged corruption in the Rafale aircraft deal and the issue of COVID vaccines. These people have no respect for the legal and technical aspects related to any issue and adhere to the policy of opposing Modi only for political gain, even if it amounts to opposing the country itself.
