Anganwadi workers to post selfies to mark attendance

Rudraprayag, 12 Nov: Anganwadi workers will now have to work on mobile apps, instead of registers, now. This would allow all their work to be properly monitored.
In this context, District Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal inaugurated training on the ICDS Common Application Software Mobile App at the ‘Bal Vikas Yojana’, Belni. All anganwadi workers have been provided a mobile phone, SIM and power bank for this purpose.
Attempts are being made to boost the activities at the anganwadi kendras to ensure success of the nutrition programme. The DM told those present that the workers would have to post selfies every day when opening the centres, otherwise they would not be paid their wages. An eye would be kept on the daily activities at the centres, so that mal-nutritioned children could be better identified.
The training is being provided by Vinit Dalmia of the National Nutrition Mission.
