Dehradun, 25 Apr: Students and teachers of Ann Mary School, today, gave a grand welcome to an Alumnus who was successful in the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
A reception was organised in the seminar hall of the school. Chancellor of Uttaranchal University and Secretary of Ann Mary School, Jitendra Joshi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The students and teachers of the school witnessed this felicitation ceremony.
Dipesh Kaira reached the function with his mother and was given a traditional welcome by applying tilak and garlanding him. Jitendra Joshi welcomed him with a bouquet and presented him a memento followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. He said that Dipesh has brought glory not only to his family but also to his school and state. His success would prove to be a source of inspiration for the students of Ann Mary School.
School Director Ankita Joshi said that it is a matter of special pride for the school that this year two alumni of Ann Mary School have qualified for the civil services. Dipesh Kaira of the 2015 batch got 86th rank and Shikhar Nautiyal of the 2013 batch got 371st rank.
In his address, Dipesh Kaira said that school education is important in strengthening the educational foundation of any student and school teachers are the architects who build this foundation. Ann Mary groomed him with a strong command of, both, Hindi and English languages, which proved to be the foundation stone of his success. Dipesh gave the credit of his success to his parents and teachers.
Jitendra Joshi, Ankita Joshi, Principal Neena Uniyal, Vice Principal Pallavi Gupta, along with all the teachers of the school and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
