Dehradun, 28 Aug: Ann Mary School demonstrated its debating excellence at the Annual JL D’Souza Interschool Debate hosted by St Joseph’s Academy on 26 August. This year’s competition witnessed the participation of 10 leading schools from Dehradun.
The school was represented by Mansi Khandurie, Aanya Singh and Sanchit Batra, under the guidance and mentorship of Umang Kalia, Senior English Teacher.

The debate followed two rigorous rounds—the Oxford Format for the qualifiers and the Modified Cambridge Format for the finals. Demonstrating clarity of thought, strong arguments, and confident rebuttals, Ann Mary’s team excelled in both rounds, ultimately clinching the Rolling Trophy and the title of Best Team, once again.
The team also swept the individual honours in both rounds. Round 1 – Best Speaker (For): Aanya Singh; Best Speaker (Against): Mansi Khandurie.
Round 2 (Finals) – Best Speaker: Sanchit Batra; 1st Runner-up Speaker: Mansi Khandurie.
With this outstanding performance, Ann Mary School not only secured the Best Team Award, but each member of the team also returned with an individual accolade, making the victory a memorable one.
