Dehradun, 27 Mar: Annual transfers of teachers of the School Education Department will be carried out under all circumstances. Instructions have been issued to departmental officials to complete all necessary formalities. They have also been directed to present strong, fact-based arguments in the petition filed in the High Court regarding the categorisation of schools. Additionally, directions have been given to expedite the disposal of teachers’ promotion cases.
State School Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat stated today that annual transfers and promotions are fundamental rights of teachers, and the state government is taking the matter very seriously. The government is committed to ensuring that teachers receive the benefits of annual transfers and promotions. Instructions have been issued to initiate the annual transfer process at the earliest so that all eligible teachers can apply within the stipulated time and benefit from a transparent system.
Dr Rawat further affirmed that detailed discussions were held at a high-level meeting with senior officials from the Finance and Personnel Departments regarding transfers and promotions. During the meeting, officials were specifically instructed to prioritise transfers under the request category. He also directed that strong and fact-based representation be made in the petition filed in the High Court concerning teacher transfers and school categorisation.
He added that, if required, a special appeal may also be filed in the matter to ensure its timely resolution before the annual transfer schedule, so that teachers can benefit from the transfer process.
Dr Rawat emphasised that the state government is equally serious about teachers’ promotions. He stated that the government is committed to ensuring that teachers receive promotion benefits at the earliest, and continuous efforts are being made at both the administrative and departmental levels. Officials have been instructed to pursue the matter vigorously at every level to ensure speedy resolution.
