DEHRADUN, 29 August: Actor and President of Armwrestling Federation of India Preeti Jhangiani visited The Doon School on Thursday. She addressed and interacted with the students.
Jhangiani was welcomed and introduced by Headmaster Dr Jagpreet Singh.
It may be recalled that Preeti Jhangiani has been promoting Pro Panja League for some years in India with her actor husband Parvin Dabas.
Students were excited about this sport and asked her questions. Jhangiani apprised them that their parents and grandparents all played panja in their childhood and school days. Speaking about the sport she reiterated, “Arm wrestling is a very technical sport. It requires years of training and learning different techniques whilst perfecting positioning. To be successful in arm wrestling you need a combination of arm strength and technique. And I am glad The Doon School has a coach who can teach the students the rudiments.”
Interestingly Actors Sunil Shetty, John Abraham, are promoting the upcoming Pro Panja League in October 2024 in Mumbai. Shetty is also a stakeholder in the league.
Deputy Headmaster of The Doon School Kamal Ahuja, School PT Leader, Gurudev Raina were also present.
Jhangiani was accompanied by Federation’s Uttarakhand head Satish Sharma, author & actor Dr Anjali Nauriyal, fitness coach Neeraj Bhambhu and his wife Sangeeta.
