Mussoorie, 2 Jul: The Rotary Club of Mussoorie has commenced the new Rotary year (2026-27) with a message of service and honour. Upon assuming office, the newly elected President, Rotarian Ashwini Mittal, pledged to work on new public-interest initiatives, identifying health, education, and social service as the priorities for his tenure. On this occasion, distinguished doctors of the city were honoured and their contributions acknowledged in observance of National Doctors’ Day. While taking charge, Ashwini Mittal stated that Rotary is not merely an organisation but a movement of service and humanity, aimed at extending help to the most marginalised individuals in society. He affirmed that the club would strive to advance projects related to health, education, environmental conservation, youth empowerment, and community development more effectively in the coming year. He promised to make every effort to live up to the trust placed in him by the club members.
Appreciating the work of outgoing President Deepak Agrawal and his team, he noted that the club had brought glory to Mussoorie by winning 19 awards at the district level last year—an achievement resulting from the collective effort and spirit of service of all members. The Doctors’ Felicitation Ceremony, organised to mark National Doctors’ Day, was a highlight of the event. Ashwini Mittal remarked that doctors remain dedicated to saving lives under all circumstances, and their spirit of service aligns with the core ethos of Rotary. He added that honouring doctors is a way of acknowledging their selfless service to society.

Those honoured included Dr George, Dr Alam, Dr Sneha Panwar, Dr Sushil Saini, Dr Preshika Rawat, Dr Rahul Uniyal, Dr Srishti Karanwal, Dr Ujjwal Malhotra, Dr Nandini Sabharwal, and Dr Prachi Jain. Ashwini Mittal stated that in the coming year, the club would further expand its initiatives regarding health camps, blood donation drives, educational support, environmental conservation, and service activities for needy families. He emphasised that the Rotary Club’s objective is not merely to organise events but to bring about positive and lasting change in society.
