Addressing the seminar, the Governor stated that auditing plays a crucial role in making local administration more responsible and transparent as a vital tool for good governance. In recent years, the institution has evolved into a constructive partner in ensuring good governance rather than merely identifying shortcomings.

The Governor emphasised that auditors can play a significant role in eradicating corruption. He highlighted the need to use technology and AI to eliminate inappropriate practices and corruption from organisations, alongside making whistleblowing irrelevant. The Governor commended CGI for its extensive data analysis using modern data technologies and the application of AI during audits.

He expressed satisfaction with CGI’s contribution in, both, national and international spheres. The Governor stressed the importance of proper utilisation of financial resources and praised CGI for using modern data technologies and AI applications to perform in-depth data analysis during audits.

Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi shed light on the importance of the activities related to the rights of the auditor and praised the computerisation of the maintenance of general provident fund accounts. She requested the issuance of a toll-free number for information related to general provident fund accounts.

Director General of Police Ashok Kumar suggested that, during the audit of expenses, attention should be paid not only to compliance with rules but also to its goals and usefulness. Director General of the Indian Forest Survey, Anup Singh shared his experiences, emphasising the importance of auditing in forest management.
