DEHRADUN 13 Sep: President Draupadi Murmu virtually launched the “Ayushman Bhava” campaign from Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Wednesday.
The inauguration ceremony was virtually attended by Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Governors of all States and Union Territories, Chief Ministers, Ministers of State and officials from various sectors.
A state-level programme was organised at the Raj Bhavan, here. Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat were present. Five organisations, Action for Advance Development Society, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Uttarakhand, The Himalayan Wellness Company, Balaji Seva Sansthan, Uttarakhand, and Lions Club Dehradun, who have become Ni-kshay Mitras under the TB Free India Campaign, were felicitated by the Governor and Chief Minister. On this occasion, Governor Singh also administered the oath of organ donation/body donation to all the people present.
Lt General Singh said that the “Ayushman Bhava” scheme is a big revolutionary campaign to bring health awareness to the lives of 140 crore people of India and to make the people happy. He expressed confidence that with the collective efforts of everyone, this scheme, like other schemes, will also be successfully implemented in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the “Ayushman Bhava” campaign would be successful in providing the benefits of health services to all. He said that the Central Government is providing extensive support to Uttarakhand in every field.
According to Dhami, the state government is working on a strategy to work on four fronts in under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first is to spread public awareness to prevent diseases. The second is to provide cheap and effective treatment to the poor. The third is to increase the quantity and quality of health infrastructure and healthcare professionals. The fourth is to work in mission mode to overcome the problems.
Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that 700 blood donation camps will be organised across the state under the “Ayushman Bhava” campaign. 10 camps each will be organised in each assembly constituency in which voluntary organizations, NSS, Red Cross Society, Scouts-Guides and Rover Rangers as well as local public representatives including Health, Education, Urban Development, Panchayati Raj, Women Empowerment and Child Development departments will participate.
Along with voluntary blood donation, registration for blood donation, organ donation and body donation will also be done at these camps. Weekly health fairs will be organised in Government Hospitals and Ayushman Health and Wellness Centers, where along with health check-ups of the local people, doctors will also check for non-communicable diseases.
MLA Jageshwar Mohan Singh Mehra, Secretary, Health, Dr R Rajesh Kumar, Additional Secretary Swati S Bhadauria, Director General, Health, Dr Vineeta Shah along with other officials of the Health Department and students of the medical college were present.
