Dehradun, 25 Jun: In a significant administrative development, senior IAS officer Banshidhar Tiwari has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, further strengthening his presence within the state’s top bureaucratic ranks. This responsibility comes as an additional charge for Tiwari who already holds the posts of Director General, Information and Public Relations Department, and Vice Chairman of the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). He will now shoulder a third major responsibility within the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. With this appointment, he becomes one of the few officers in Uttarakhand entrusted with three high-profile portfolios simultaneously.

The move is being viewed as a clear indication of the Chief Minister’s growing trust in Tiwari’s administrative acumen and leadership.

Known for his proactive approach and effective communication strategies, Tiwari has played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s public outreach and urban development initiatives. His elevation is expected to enhance coordination between the Chief Minister’s Office and key departments, particularly in areas related to public engagement and infrastructure planning.

Observers in political and bureaucratic circles see this as a strategic consolidation of responsibilities, aimed at streamlining governance and accelerating the implementation of flagship programmes in Uttarakhand.
