Dehradun, 13 Dec: Dr Shiv Kumar Barnwal, formerly serving at the District Collectorate in Pithoragarh, has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission. In pursuit of the government orders in this regard, Dr Burnwal today assumed charge as Secretary of the Commission, in the presence of Commission Chairperson Dr Geeta Khanna, Member Vinod Kaparwan, and Under Secretary SK Singh.
In this connection, Dr Geeta Khanna has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the appointment. She believes that the arrival of a full-time secretary would significantly accelerate the commission’s work. This includes in-depth field work, inspections, hearings, organising independent workshops, and conducting tours to disseminate information.
