Mussoorie, 11 Jun: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its organisational activity in the Mussoorie Mandal regarding the special intensive revision campaign for the voter list in Uttarakhand. A special meeting held in the Sahastradhara area was attended by convenors, in-charges, booth presidents, BLA-2s, and Morcha presidents from the Buranskhanda, Silla, Kaflani, and Teemli Mansingh Shakti Kendras.

BJP State Secretary Neha Joshi attended the meeting as the Chief Guest. She stated that an accurate and updated voter list forms the foundation of the democratic process. She urged party workers to remain active at the booth level to rectify list discrepancies and ensure the inclusion of eligible voters. The meeting emphasised the process of removing names of deceased and relocated voters, as well as those with incorrect addresses. Discussions were held on transferring the names of women who had moved elsewhere after marriage and adding the names of women who had newly arrived in the area. A decision was made to launch a campaign to include the names of young people in the voter list and facilitate the creation of voter ID cards. The meeting stressed the need to ensure that no names of illegal outsiders or infiltrators were included in the voter list. Booth Level Agents and local office-bearers were instructed to file objections regarding irregularities and to ensure the voter list was error-free. Political analysts believe this campaign is a crucial part of preparations for the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections. Strengthening and organising the voter list at the booth level is considered a vital component of any political party’s electoral strategy. Several office-bearers, including Bir Singh Chauhan (District Panchayat Member), Narendra Melwan (General Secretary), and Sunil Chamoli (Vice President), were present at the meeting.
