Dehradun, 11 Jul: The BJP has described the Congress demand for repolling in the by-elections as an indication of its frustration over imminent defeat.

Responding to the queries of the media at BJP State Headquarters here, today, Party state general secretary Aditya Kothari claimed the trust that the public has shown in PM Modi and CM Dhami in both the assembly constituencies has completely shaken the confidence of the Congress.

Kothari rebuffed the allegations of the Congress regarding the Manglaur byelection and called the allegations baseless and indicative of frustration over possible defeat. He retorted that all the allegations being made are the work of Congress leaders themselves. First, the disturbance was created by Congress workers from outside the constituency and then it was made viral in the entire assembly with false allegations of firing so that the atmosphere in the area could be spoiled and the voting process influenced. Big leaders of Congress leaders from outside the constituency were themselves roaming around there and trying to influence the voters. But the people there participated in the democratic process for development with great courage.

Kothari alleged that, seeing the attitude of the voters, the Congress is deeply upset and is making the illogical demand for a repoll. The truth is that the people of both the constituencies have voted in favour of the BJP. The impact of the historic steps of the double engine government has reached every person of Badrinath and Manglaur. This is the reason that to further accelerate the pace of development in their area, the people there are sending the BJP candidates to victory. As far as the Congress’s factory of spreading rumours and confusion is concerned, the truth will also be revealed with the counting of votes on 13 July.
