Dehradun, 19 Sep: Uttarakhand BJP’s Mahila Morcha has hailed the Women Reservation Bill tabled by the Modi Government in Parliament.  State President of the BJP Mahila Morcha, Asha Nautiyal stated today that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a historic step for the empowerment of women. Women will become politically stronger if they get 33 percent reservation in the Lok Sabha and Assemblies.

She added that that it will now be easier for women to reach the Lok Sabha and the state Assemblies.

Nautiyal also asserted that, with more women reaching the legislature, issues related to women will be raised prominently in the House, which will greatly benefit women. She said that, while various schemes are being run by the Union Government to respect women power, more women will now reach the Lok Sabha and Assembly after getting 33 percent reservation. She further claimed that women will be able to represent India at the national and international levels. Not only will women’s issues be addressed in the country but these will be resolved at the international level too.

Nautiyal said that Uttarakhand is a state with a heterogeneous geographical situation. Women here have always participated in movements on political and non-political platforms. Women have also played a leading role in the movement for the creation of Uttarakhand state. The women of the state have always participated actively in public issues. In such a situation, if more women reach the House, the problems faced by women can be solved more easily as the issues related to the women will be raised more assertively in the legislature. The BJP leader claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been continuously working for the uplift of women, whether it is the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign or the issue of connecting the women of self-help groups with the mainstream and providing their products new markets. She stated that, both, the central and state governments are working for the uplift of women. Nautiyal expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for women’s reservation.

Meanwhile, BJP state spokesperson Honey Pathak has also expressed gratitude to the entire Union Cabinet and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the Women’s Reservation Bill and presenting it in the Lok Sabha.

Calling it a historic decision in favour of half the population, Honey Pathak said that Prime Minister Modi has always respected women power. Be it the Ujjwala scheme or reducing the price of domestic gas cylinders, the women are becoming major beneficiaries of the government schemes.
