DEHRADUN, 22 Apr: Some additional commercial activities have been allowed to operate during the lockdown by the administration in Uttarakhand from tomorrow onwards. Such activities include school bookshops, shops engaged in recharge of mobile services, and research organisations engaged in agriculture and horticulture.
In addition, transportation of planting material, honey and bee keeping equipment has also been permitted between various districts and even at the inter-state level. Food and milk processing units, including atta mills and bread baking units would also be permitted to operate.
Shops related to electrical repairs (words mentioned are fan repair shops!) would also be permitted to open during the relaxation hours (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
Even the petrol pumps will be allowed to operate two nozzles in place of one currently in the municipal limits of Dehradun and to operate fully outside the urban areas of the district. In addition, Secretary School Education, R Meenakshi Sundaram has issued orders today allowing the schools to charge school fee from the parents who are willing to pay during the lockdown. However, the permission is conditional and it restricts the school managements from forcing the parents to pay school fee during the lockdown or to strike out the names of the students who fail to pay their fee during the lockdown.
