Dehradun, 13 Feb: In a remarkable gesture of humanity and compassion, Brigadier Harish Chandra Joshi (Retd), resident of Vasant Vihar, Dehradun and originally from Jharikhal, Pauri Garhwal, today called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence and contributed Rs 10 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. His support is aimed at assisting disaster‑affected families and underprivileged children in the spheres of education, health and livelihood.
Brig Joshi personally met CM Dhami and handed over the cheque to him. On this occasion, Joshi stated that the contribution is intended to strengthen relief and rescue operations during natural calamities and to provide sustained assistance to poor and deprived children impacted by such disasters.
On this occasion, the CM observed that as an experienced military officer, Brigadier Joshi’s initiative reflects his deep commitment to the overall development of the state and society. He added that such acts of service inspire others to come forward in the spirit of cooperation and social responsibility.
Brig Joshi’s daughter, Shanu Joshi, was also present during the meeting. The contribution stands as an exemplary act of solidarity, underlining the enduring role of former soldiers in nation‑building and humanitarian service.
