Dehradun, 15 Mar: Senior Congress leader Lalchand Sharma, while reacting to the budget presented in the Gairsain assembly session, today, termed it as a failed exercise. He said that while the budget provisions for a total expenditure of Rs 77,407 crores but, against this, the state’s income from its own resources is just Rs 24,744 crores which indicates a huge deficit between the state’s income and its expenditure. Sharma said that due to this, the burden on the tax payer of the state will increase and the common person will continue to be hit by inflation. He added that no provision has been made in the budget to reduce the burden of inflation and the ever-increasing unemployment. Overall, the budget can be called a bundle of directionless and empty announcements.
