Dehradun, 15 Apr: The first session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly for the year 2026, which had begun on 9 March and was adjourned sine die on 13 March, has now been formally prorogued. This was the budget session of the state assembly.
An official communiqué from the Assembly Secretariat stated that the Governor has ordered the prorogation with effect from 10 April. The announcement was issued by Deputy Secretary (Accounts) Hem Chandra Pant on behalf of the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
The prorogation marks the formal conclusion of the session, which had witnessed deliberations on key legislative and administrative matters before its adjournment. With this, the House stands closed until the next session is convened by the Governor.
