Cabinet approves increasing height of Doon-Mussoorie ropeway terminal

DEHRADUN, 27 Jul: The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was today held at the Uttarakhand Secretariat, after a gap of about one and a half months. Several important decisions were taken in this meeting. A total of 36 proposals were presented in the meeting and all were approved by the cabinet. Some important decisions included approval of the proposal of increasing the height of the terminal to be constructed for DehradunMussoorie Ropeway project, giving 100 acres of land for AIIMS satellite centre in Kumaon, approval of proposal for construction of commercial buildings around the Metro stations proposed in Dehradun and formation of a commission for the 3-tier Panchayat Elections in Haridwar. Some other decisions included approval of a proposal to construct small underground tunnels in the hill areas to deal with the parking problems, approval of the rules of the Planning Commission, approval of implementing e-office system in the cabinet too, land clearance for some projects in Nainital, permission granted to Irrigation Department to work as a construction executive agency, changes in the examination process for the post of X-ray Technician, permission given to convert land of Gadarpur Sugar Mill into land bank and the decision to give subsidies to industrial units that had been deprived of subsidy in the past for some reasons.
