CASFOS to hold ‘Srijan 2019’

Dehradun, 13 Jun: The Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), here, will celebrate ‘Srijan 2019’, a cultural evening, on the occasion of passing out of 2017-19 SFS batch Officer Trainees on 14 June in the Hari Singh Auditorium, IGNFA, New Forest Campus.
The batch consists of 42 Officer Trainees sponsored by various State Governments of which 20 are from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Uttar Pradesh, 2 from Tamil Nadu, 2 from Gujarat, 2 from Odisha, 2 from Manipur and 1 from Nagaland. They have been taught various subjects like Natural Resource Management, Silviculture, Remote Sensing, Forest Policy, etc. In addition, Officer Trainees are exposed to study tours of a total 150 days covering North, East, West and South India which helps them study the different cultures and forest ecosystems. Now, the course is culminating with the Convocation on 18 June. Before that, to showcase the cultural richness and artistic performances, a cultural evening ‘Srijan’ is being organised along with a special performance by Susmita Das, a singer of national repute.
Present on the occasion will be Dr SC Gairola, Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education, Omkar Singh, Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dr VB Mathur, Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Arun Singh Rawat, Director, Forest Research Institute, Rajpal Singh, Director, Directorate of Forest Education and Kunal Satyarthi, Principal, Central Academy for State Forest Service. In addition, senior forest officers, Heads of Departments and other officers and scientists from leading organisations in and around Dehradun will also be attending the function.
