Champawat, 15 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held an interactive session with eminent citizens and senior citizens at the Zila Panchayat Auditorium in Champawat here today. In his interaction, he emphasised that the experience and blessings of eminent senior citizens would help transform Champawat into an ‘Model District’. He said that this transformation would also serve as a model for building an ‘Ideal Uttarakhand’.
Dhami described the senior citizens as symbols of the society’s experience, knowledge, and values, and described them as the guiding pillars of community life. He said that the vision of an ‘Ideal Champawat’ represents not just the development of one district but a significant step towards realising the goal of an ‘Ideal Uttarakhand’.
On this occasion, the CM shared that development projects worth over Rs 100 crores have already been completed in the Sipti area of Champawat district, while extensive work is underway across the region. Out of the 306 announcements he has made so far, 196 have been completed, and the rest are progressing rapidly. He also reminded that a Science Centre has also been constructed in the district and that the new campus of Soban Singh Jeena University has become functional. Champawat has also been included in the Smart City Mission.
Dhami added that major projects such as the Purnagiri Ropeway Project, the Sharda Corridor, and the Wedding Destination Uttarakhand Scheme are also progressing at a fast pace. He asserted that these initiatives would collectively strengthen the district’s identity as a model for development in the state.
Earlier, senior citizens present at the meeting warmly welcomed the CM on his arrival and noted that the confidence shown by the people of Champawat, who had elected him as MLA with over 93 per cent of the votes, is now visible through the steady progress of development works on the ground. They also appreciated the improvements being carried out in education, health, social security, and Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing in the district. The participants also thanked the CM for addressing pension-related issues and expressed confidence that the government would continue to work with the same commitment and sensitivity towards public welfare.
Among those present were Shyam Narayan Pandey, Anil Dabbu, Shankar Koranga, BJP District President Govind Samant, Zila Panchayat President Anand Adhikari, Municipal President Prema Pandey, Block Chief Achala Bohra, Barakote Block Chief Seema Arya, BJP State Secretary Nirmal Mehra, former MLA Puran Singh Fartyal, along with other public representatives, eminent citizens, senior residents, and officials.
