Chief Minister inaugurates plastic waste recycling plant in Haridwar

Haridwar, 18 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected President of the District Panchayat, Haridwar, Rajendra Singh, and Vice President Amit Kumar, held at Bhalla Inter College Ground here today. In the presence of the Chief Minister, District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey administered the oath of office and secrecy to the President and Vice-President. District Panchayat President Rajendra Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to the other Panchayat members.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a Plastic Waste Recycling Plant at Mujahidpur Satiwala, Bhagwanpur, which has cost Rs 6 crores.

Chief Minister Dhami congratulated all the newly elected Panchayat representatives. Expressing his gratitude to the people of Haridwar, he said that this victory of the panchayat public representatives was the beginning of a new chapter in development of Haridwar district. The Chief Minister called upon all the elected District Panchayat members, Block Panchayat members and other representatives to carry forward the development work according to the aspirations of the people. He said that Panchayat representatives acted as a bridge between the government and the people and they had an important role in development.

Dhami said that the government would develop Haridwar as a model district and, for this, attention is being paid to developing tourism facilities and operate infrastructure and employment-oriented schemes in the district. He said that apart from being the spiritual centre of the entire country and the world, lakhs of people were also getting employment through industries here and this development journey of the government was a collective journey of all. He expressed hope that all the Panchayat representatives would brainstorm for the development of their area so that Haridwar could become an ideal district.

Referring to the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the Chief Minister said that free ration is being distributed to lakhs of families under this scheme. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is moving towards making Uttarakhand a leading state in the country.

Haridwar MP Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ called it a historic moment when all the representatives were elected unopposed. He said that this historic victory of Haridwar district was a stamp put by the people on the development works being carried out under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that the Chief Minister Dhami is ensuring development in the entire state. While congratulating the newly elected representatives, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj said they ought to always stand shoulder to shoulder with everyone to take forward the journey of development.

On this occasion, Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik, Ranipur MLA Adesh Chauhan, Roorkee MLA Pradeep Batra, former Cabinet Minister Swami Yatishwaranand, BJP District President Dr Jaipal Singh Chouhan, District General Secretary Vikas Tiwari, former MLAs Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion, Sanjay Gupta, Suresh Rathore, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Yogendra Singh Chauhan were among those present.
