Chief Secretary expresses displeasure at poor condition of roads in Doon

Dehradun, 21 Sep: Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu today chaired a meeting with all the departments concerned with the construction and maintenance of roads in Dehradun and Mussoorie at the Secretariat.

Expressing displeasure over the plight of the roads, the Chief Secretary directed all the departments concerned to prepare a date wise completion plan for each road of Dehradun and Mussoorie in two days. He also warned that the responsibility of the officers would be fixed in this respect and in case of failure to achieve the targets they would given adverse entries in their service records.

The Chief Secretary directed that arrangements be ensured for future connections in the drinking water pipeline laid along the roads in Mussoorie that the roads do not have to be dug again. He also directed that the work on beautification of Mussoorie Mall Road to be expedited and the work done in coordination of all the departments concerned.

The Chief Secretary instructed the officers to complete the work by inspecting the sites and finding solutions to the problems being faced. He said that he would hold a meeting in this respect every week.

On this occasion, Secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki, District Magistrate, Dehradun, and CEO, Smart City, Sonika, Chief Municipal Commissioner Manuj Goyal and other officials of related departments were also present.
