CII supports Doon Library in Digital Transformation

Dehradun, 8 Jul: CII has envisaged a national movement for mainstreaming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for sustained inclusiveness as part of its social development agenda. Indian Industry has been working towards social development by engaging with the government, community and civil society.
In Uttarakhand, CII has so far implemented projects in education, skill development, livelihood generation by empowering women, digital education, WaSH, etc. Currently, CII is implementing a Project Student Led Total Sanitation & Disaster Risk Reduction in 150 government schools of district Rudraprayag.
Taking forward the agenda of CSR, CII Uttarakhand State Council has supported Doon Library to initiate transition of the library into digital mode by donating 8 computers. The Computer Systems were donated by Windlass Biotech, CII Member Organisation.
Ashok Windlass, Vice Chairman, CII Uttarakhand State Council, formally handed over the systems to BK Joshi, Director, Doon Library. He shared that CII would be keen to support the Doon Library further in whatever way possible.
The systems will enable the members of the library to search the library catalogue in digital form easily and will also provide internet access to other digital resources.
Also present on the occasion was Gurdeep Singh, Convenor, Panel on Skills, Education, CSR & Affirmative Action, CII Uttarakhand, and Head-HR, Honeywell Electrical Devices & Systems India Ltd. Gurdeep emphasised that Industry today is taking its social responsibility seriously and working towards inclusive development in various sectors.
