DEHRADUN, 10 Nov: A career counselling and guidance workshop was organised on 9 November at Doon International School for the students of commerce and humanities departments.
The resource person was Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax – Kanpur Range.
Gupta has ample experience in a plethora of fields, including law making, investigation and intelligence gathering. He also received his training as an additional director from the Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute in Delhi, and he has been administering and handling income-tax issues and other issues related to such allied acts. His list of achievements includes representing complex cases before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and adjudicating authorities (PMLA and BENAMI).
He encouraged the students to follow their dreams and not be affected by failures or setbacks. He presented the students a book by Sudha Murty and quoted examples from it to inspire the students to work tirelessly to fulfil their dreams. In conclusion he called on the students to become brand ambassadors of the Income Tax Department and thereby encourage all the citizens to pay their taxes honestly in the larger interest of nation building.
The session ended with a question and answer session, and was enjoyed by all those present including the students, members of the staff and Director HS Mann, who proposed the vote of thanks.
